Dear friends:

We wish you and your family Shana Tova and a sweet and happy 5773!

About our privat life

Finally I visited Israel in September while Aaron stood at home taking care of our pets.

It was my very first trip. After coming back still parts of my soul are there…

Jerushalajim was unbelievable emotional, we drove through the Palestinian areas, I saw Yad Vashem, everything very moving.

In Yad Vashem I first thought that I do not need to see all this documentaries since I deal with that every day, I knew many of the films and documents, but the deeper I went into the exhibit the more emotional I became. Specially when listening to the survivors statements, I ended up crying terribly, I was so emotional, all of the pain of myself growing up without my relatives who were murdered in the Shoah came up.

I had collected and stored two stones from Berlin to lay them down at the commemoration of Otto Weidt, the righteous gentile with the brush factory. It was unbelievably hard to find his sign, my tour guide did not find the place, but I laid those stones on the commemoration of the Berlin areas.

I do have a lot to digest - I am sort of disrupted in my soul… very difficult to explain. Very emotional. Too many feelings involved.

On my next trip Aaron will join me, he promised to come! It will be short but somehow Israel touched my soul extremely.

All the pain of loosing my entire family in the Shoah came up and I realized how sensitive I am to having lost my family in Nazi-Germany.

It was very special to be a Jew among Jews who all had similar experiences in their lifes.

Festival of Lights in Berlin from Oct. 10 - 21

Once again the wonderful Festival of Lights takes place in Berlin - for all of our clients who are coming until October 21 not to miss it. Have a few impressions here festival-of-lights.de/en/

The new German generation

A client of ours forwarded us this video today. It has been broadcasted in Israel's TV on September 1, 2012.

Please watch it here if you can't see the video below.

It made us (Aaron and myself) cry…

Aaron himself is inquiring at the government trying to find out what his grandfathers did during WW II - when going into an exhibit we often fear seeing his grandfather appointing mine.

By the way: I am very proud of him because it is all not so easy for us.

Weather in Berlin

For all of our clients coming in October and November: Bring warm clothing, weather has cooled down and the best you can do is dressing up in layers. Specially warm shoes and warm socks.

This was all for today. We send you our best wishes.

Shalom

We hope to see you soon in our beautiful city!
